Karate Champs Of The City Lock Horns An Inter-School Girls Karate tournament was organized by the Calcutta karate club,North Eastern Gojukai Karate in  association with CGHS on 12th november.This was the 4th time that such an event was organised exclusively for only girls,without charging any fees from the students.The whole tounament was divided into two groups –kata and kumite.As many as 284 students from around 25 schools from kolkata toke part in this event.                            All participants from our school tried their best to win the championship trophy,but unfortunately St Agnes School ,Howrah won the championship,however CGHS was the 1st runners up and mahadevi birla girls higher secondary school won the 2nd runners up trophy.The trophy for the most discipline school was given to St Paul Boarding and Day school.Other from this Sadaf Fatama of St Pauls School was declared “The best karateka junior” while Pragati Saraf of MBG was declared “The best karateka senior”.Sulagna Chowdhury of CGHS was declared “THE UPCOMING KARATEKA OF THE YEAR “.The chief guest ,Madan Mitra,the sports minister,govt of west bengal,gave away the prizes at the end of the tournament . ~ by SULAGNA CHOWDHURY VII-B
