Hiya guys, I was just wondering if anyone has any favourite sub-genres of metal? My favourite is definitely Symphonic Metal. It would nice to see what everyone else likes.

Ahh, I probably shouldn't be replying since I am not a huge fan of metal, but my sister listens to it 24/7 so I guess I'll go ahead and say it. PROG-METAL :3

I also kind-of-sort-of-maybe like gothic metal and experimental metal. This is kind of off-topic, but do you like any other genres?

Yes, gothic metal is one of my favourites too. I do. As well as the stuff that comes under rock and metal, I quite like things like jazz, blues, cabaret and folk.

I prefer groovier kinds, so funk metal, sludge, obviously prog-metal. I do thrash, I'll do some black metal but not a lot. I'm into some doom metal as well.
