A plot twist is when the plot suddenly turns in a new direction, often because of something unexpected. Things like false protagonists/antagonists are examples of these.
There is this story I am writing called The Mystery Cure and one of the collaborators for the story said:

"I just noticed. There is a ****load of plot twists in the story. That could make the reader bored and disinterested."

I thought plot twists are good and make you want to read more. The books by Margaret Peterson Haddix have a lot of plot twists that have kept me reading on to the 5th book (which I am currently reading) of the Shadow Children Series.

Are plot twists good or bad?

Well they are good but if over used it can get boring. Instead of putting a bunch of twists, just put one big one. Take this for a example; I did a story for a language project and I got the readers close to the two main characters and then BOOM! The two main characters are gruesomely murdered in the end by one of the other characters in the story. Hope this helps smile

P.S
Using details help A LOT. It gives the reader more feel towards what the characters are seeing/feeling.
