Would you prefer a story that presents the main character's problem right away or a story that introduces every single character in detail before going to the plot?
I prefer faster stories (which is why I could never finish THG)
I'm trying to figure out what kind of stories to write.

Hi! I like writing and chess and drawing.

It depends. Some stories work best if they start off immediately fast-paced, others are better after you get to know the characters first.

I found THG plenty fast-paced for me. I thought it all worked, just because if the book had started right off in the middle of the Games, the story wouldn't have made sense.

what a cutie pie

I like the conflict after all of the background information..wait for the build before introducing the problem..i want to know who the character is and where they come from and the setting before reading about the issue Big Grin
