The town was filled with bustling people as Maddie walked along, trying to fight against the tears falling down her face, but she lost. She continued, being shoved countless times by passerbys before cutting off from the bustle of the main street and down a smaller street. Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, she stopped, a strange feeling that she was being followed.
She turned suddenly, to find a figure stood just feet away. She knew who it was, she could see his dark green eyes glistening in the dim light as he took a step forward-while at the same time, she took a step back, wondering whether she could outrun him.
"Don't even try it." He spat, moving closer with every painstakingly long second.
She gulped. "I did everything you-"
"No, you didn't." He shook his head, chuckling fakely. There was no emotion on his face or in his tone at all. He took a final step, grabbing her by the collar of her shirt.
"What are you-?" Before she could finish, he pinned her up against the wall, anger now showing on his face.
"How
dare you even
think of touching her?!" He snarled, raging. She looked around frantically, hoping someone would notice, but the area was completely empty.
She felt his hands clamp around her throat, blocking her windpipe. She gasped, trying desperately to claw his hands away, but he just slid her up the wall so that her feet were dangling just above the ground.
"It's your fault. You've ruined
everything." He released her, turning away as her knees buckled and she fell to the floor. "If you hadn't done that, you might still have your
precious Zakk, and I..."
"You'd have Scarlett." She smirked weakly, her voice barely a hoarse whisper. "You seriously think she ever loved you, or ever will? Well, she doesn't, if anything, she hates you. Don't you remember what you did to her? Guess not." She scowled.
"Shut. Up." He hissed, turning to face her and pulling her up. In his fury, he threw her against the wall opposite. Her head hit the concrete with an ear splitting
crack! and she fell to the floor once more, blood trickling down her forehead.
His face was as cold and hard as stone, he didn't care for that girl even in the slightest. He stepped over her body and walked away, leaving her unconscious in the deserted street.

You know what "Normal" is? A setting on a washing machine. No one wants to be that.
