Note: I haven't been RPing as much lately so I have decided to start a story and start writing more and more and try to update ever day. So please, read if you like and comment, I would greatly appreciate it. Prologue Shadows creep across the open field, calling to the houses on the other side. Shutters are pulled tightly shut while doors are locked and secure, knowing what is coming to their small village. Children are sent to bed early, though none can sleep well, old stories playing at their minds of what would happen if even a single window wasn’t closed tight enough. Howls broke out across the field, soon after small shadows were running through the tall grass. Their black fur blended with the shadows near the ground, their eyes the only thing that could be seen from far away, a light blue. Cold drops of rain fell down, landing on the grass, the trees, and the houses. But not a single drop was able to touch the wild beasts, the animals already charging at the doors they found to be the weakest. At least one house on this night every year was broken into, the creatures not finding any regret in attacking the family. No one survives if the wild creatures do get in. At least not many do. Only three have survived in over fifty years, two of them are still alive now, locked away in their houses. Unlike the other villagers, these two had no emotions on this night, ready to attack anything or anyone that tried to get into their house before the sun had come up.  These two had become animals, caring nothing for anyone, just like the animals that come every year, taking away more and more people of the small village.

Oooooooh Gooooood Just a quick question though I'm assuming this story will be in 3rd Person. So would that be 3rd Person Limited or 3rd Person Omniscient? Or am I completly mistaken and this is going to be 1st Person? Sorry, I'm just overly curious, blame my english teacher....

Oh, you saw me on the forums?
You want to add me?

Don't.

I hate people.
A lot.

Probably 3rd person. I am bad at 1st person. Though I might make some mistakes throughout cause I mainly type this up during school.

Chapter One The sun rose slowly, eyes of the villagers searching their windows for the first glimpse of light to swarm in through the cracks. Finally morning had come. With slow and hesitant movements the villagers started to unlock their doors, looking outside before taking the steps needed to leave their homes. Mummers could be heard throughout the small town, children running about now as if nothing had even happened, men searching the houses to make sure none had been gotten into over the night. The women began to gossip about the night and how things had played out from their views. Only a few people remained silent, already heading back to their normal schedule of the day. One of those people was a young man, about the age of nineteen, named Darren. He was one of the two that had survived that same night twelve years ago. He still couldn't forget it of course, the memories that flashed through his head each time he heard one of the dreadful howls. Darren was a hardworking person, never missing a day of his job helping with the harvests and helping at the blacksmiths. Most of the girls in the village talked about him, but only rumors because of the fact he had survived. Darren has dark beady eyes, almost black. His shoulder length midnight black hair was pulled back out of his face in a small ponytail, though strands fell out here and there. Because of his work in the blacksmiths he had gained somewhat of an athletic build, his skin tanned. He wore a simple pair of trousers, a loose shirt, and a pair of boots. Whispers had already started again, talking about him, about how his family was killed by the creatures that attack them every year, though they weren't only of him. They were also of the young girl, Grace, who had lost her parents to the creatures only two years ago. She now lives with her uncle, but because she is only ten, she doesn't speak of what happened, traumatized and mute now, seeming to wander off and live in her dream land.

Chapter Two "Did you hear, seems it was old man Ethan's house that wasn't lucky this year." "Wasn't his daughters family visiting last night?" "Yeah, poor things, none of them made it." Darren sighed lightly as he made his way into the blacksmith's work area, not saying anything to the blacksmith who had already set off to work. He grabbed his heavy apron, gloves, and tools, setting off to work on finishing off his latest project. Only a few minutes went by before the blacksmith touched the young man's shoulder lightly, " Boy, you should take the day off. You know if you work today, you'll just end up with another failed project." the older man said. Darren placed his tools down, looking at the blacksmith. The man was at least another foot taller than Darren, broad shouldered. His hair was cut short, only because of the constant work he had with the forge, clean shaved as of that morning. Though the one thing that was more different were the dark bags under the blacksmith's eyes, showing signs of lack of sleep. Darren shook his head lightly, " I'm fine. You look as if you could use the day off instead." he said, turning back to his work. The blacksmith sighed, giving a small shrug as he wandered back off to what he had been doing, not saying another word. Darren went back to hammering at the piece of metal, watching as the shape changed with each blow. After a few more strikes, he placed the metal into the water, steam rising from the barrel of water. His dark eyes went to the open window for a moment, watching a young girl watch as the adults ran around, seemingly lost in a daydream.
