I have great news from KW''s head honcho! Big boss thinks that the Kidzworld Poet Society, along with all of the other great poetry threads are awesome. So here''s the deal. If you want your KW poems published you can do one xor more) of three things: 1) You can post your poems in this thread, 2) You can post your poem in one of the poetry threads xpreferably where we can easily see them) or 3) You can post your poems in a new thread, as long as there''s some way we can tell that it''s a poem you want published. Then, some of KW''s writers and the big boss will take a look at the poems and they''ll publish the good ones on the site

So if you want your poems published on the KW site, start posting away!

Living Life In A Glass Box

I wanted to write a poem
That meant something to me
But I realized I might seem a bit egotistic...
So I decided to write a poem
That means something to us all
Something complicated, and yet, simplistic...

Human behavior, funny as it seems
Is simply a form of contradiction
And no matter how far you read in between the lines
You don''t realize your life story is written in fiction

It''s the subtleties we never notice that give us away
And that''s what makes life so fantastic
Use your imagination, that soldier may seem so real
But you''ve gotta realize it''s still made of plastic

I love to speak in metaphors they tend to make people think
But if I were just to come clear I''d have to say...
That live your life and love your life because whats in store for tomorrow
Doesn''t compare to how real you feel today

I see the stars sparkling so bright,
Within the moon kissed sky.
I hear the lark so sweetly sing,
Amidst the morning dawn.
I smell the flower full in bloom,
And see their royal pomp.

And yet some place so deep within,
I''m shrouded and I''m closed.
The brilliance there I can''t see,
In mists of misery.
Enshrined inside, unable thus,
To touch the warmth without.

I gaze upon this passion spent,

And yet . . . Inside I die.

The Darkness

If only it were so simple,
to cruise through life smelling rosesx
but the obstacles blacken the countryside,
and we unwittingly crush them beneath our boots.

Dreams sustain us through the madnessx
goals give a finish line to our race.
Yet they change with every turn, around every wall,
and remain elusive throughout the quest.

Mistakes are made, and regrets are our luggagex
we will drag them with us to slow us down.
The victories are flashes of light, sudden and unlasting, which allow us
to glimpse the road ahead before darkness descends.

Love is bitter, yet it is the bread that keeps us.
Over and over it fills us up, only to starve us.
The people whom we love shape our destinies and our strengths,
yet leave us cold and alone in the darkness.

There are others trying to race to the endx
occasionally, we bump into one or two.
The bonds we form help us down the path less lonely
but eventually, we lose each other in the darkness.

Alone is not a bad way to bex
it clears your head and focuses you on the journey.
Cherish the short intervals during the quest you have with others,
but be prepared to walk alone in the darkness.

You don''t seem to remember them -
all the memories I hold dear.
You were my first kiss, my first love
and now you don''t even care.
How could you just blow it away?
We were the perfect pair.
you seem content to let me go -
You''re doing fine as you are,
while I''m still missing how we were.
We had the best love by far.

Thoughts of you,
our history,
flow through my mind insistently.
My energy
is wasted on remorse,
and while I''m struggling desperately
to keep my dignity,
your destiny
is following its course.
A memory, life''s driving force

Whispers in the darkx
a meeting at the park,
a flash
of sudden inspiration.
We rode out into the night,
surrounded by moonlight,
to an unknown destinationx
and with memories following close behind,
we climbed up a hill to gaze at the sky -
to talk about life as it''s passing us by,
and we tried to find the reasons why

Is it useless to hope that this torment will cease
and passions lose allure?
That time will offer some kind of release
and memories will blur?

The Battle
It is done,
it is over.
As I watch, with dismay
as the villagers dance with joy.

As I look,
over the blood stained earth.
I the slaughtered,
the tortured,
the victims of Hell.

As I glance over the dead,
there pain has ended,
the have left.

But.

the tortured, they dying,
they have no escape,
no light.

it is for them I weep.

Now as I stand,
in this massacre,
I wonder...

of the reason,
we all fought.

And now as i walk,
through the trove of corpses,
I see,
my beheaded brother.

Dead of his courage,
his love,
his will to protect.

That is the reason,
we fought.

Love
false courage
And,
to defend those we love.

Some,
of the younger solders.
Fought for the honor
Of War.

They do not know the secret...
there is no honor in War,
only disgrace.
