yes this is worng

yeah..i don't think its wrong..the consequence fits the crime..
i mean, why should they be allowed to live for killing someone??

ok, a judge says killing someone is against the law, then he orders a deth sentence which is killing someone, so how is that not murder?? I mean, thats hypocriticle. you cant say i beleive the death sentence is right hen its just killing when you say you dont like killing. I mean, u go and do what you are trying to tell ppl not to do. ur doing the same thing that person did, so that would make you a killer. its not right. i think there are better punishments, and i dont think god would want us to kill other ppl. im a strong Christian. and killing is not right in the eyes of God, whether its for justice or not.

an eye for an eye, a life for a life. at least we're not stoning people for saying God isn't real, which was the practice under the original hebrew law. you can't use the "god is against it" argument, it's contradicted by scripture. and it's not murder, it's supposed to be the ultimate punishment for the ultimate crime.

i agree with gothsweetheart because you know that person can't hurt anyone anymore. If someone would of killed one of my family members... it would tear the whole family apart.

ok, the death penalty is unconstitutional. In the constitiution, it says we have unalienable rights. One of those unalienable rights is the right to live. It means no one has the right to take another persons life.

I support it. Although I hate murder and the thought of death in general, I think that if someone is willing to take another's life, then they deserve to die.

They're definitely plenty of views on this, and of course, some are against it. It does say in the constitution you are protected from any form of punishment(besides jail) but death for a capital crime only seems fitting. If someone were to commit a murder then the whole right to live thing applies to the victim, and the person who killed him should probably be sentenced to death for taking a life. It is a highly controversial topic but why should the criminal deserve to live after taking an innocent life?

thats a contreversal topic. i say no to death penalty. they obviously did something bad enough that they should suffer in a jail cell

I support it but I don't. Yes, I feel that if someone commits murder, they deserve to be serverly punished...however, giving a death sentence is completely hypocritical!
Think about it...a guy(lets call him Joe) kills another guy(lets call him Bob). Bob's family would suffer...so the judge gives Joe a death sentence. Then Joe's family would suffer too. If Joe murders, someone shouldn't murder him for it.
So...commiting a murder = being murdered? Where's the sense in that?
That would be like saying...robbing a bank/shop/house etc... = being robbed.
Or...well, I think you get the picture.
There is very little sense in death sentences...sure, they are being "punished" but as soon as they are dead, they don't feel the pain...so, wouldn't it be a better punishment if they were...whipped daily or something?!
