Melissa was walking along the battered up path of her struggling town. It was her turn to go out to the field to find food. She quickly turn off the path and started into the woods. She was careful not to attract the attention of any of the rich people who lived in the other city just behind the woods where the field was. Her ragged dress dragging on the ground behind her.

Justin watched Melissa. Poor girl, he thought. He decided to talk to her. Justin walked up the hill, catching up to her. "Hey, do I know you?" He asked, his eyes blazing. His hair blowed in the wind, and he looked at the ragged girl. I hope she is okay. The boy narrowed his eyes at the thought.
