The guardian stood a few metres from Zabrina's body, studying the burns from her neck down to her ankles. The only place of her body that remained unharmed was her face. "She's alive", he whispered in a low tone, watching the stranger that had now emerged from the trees. "At least she will be if she wakes up in time", he said.

He bent down and lifted her off the ground, beginning to carry her back to his place of residence.

The guardian followed after the stranger, who he had now discovered through telepathy was named Damen. He would occasionally go out of his form, and change into the appearance of a stream of light or dust, but his gaze remained upon Zabrina's face. Her head lolled over Damen's arm, but most of her burns were barely visible because of the clothes that covered her body.

He ascended the outside stairs, lying her on the bed, "Please, tend to her until I return..."

The guardian nodded slowly and took his human form again, moving to stand beside Zabrina as he tucked a string of stray hair behind her left ear. As his fingertips came in contact with her skin, the burns on her neck gradually vanished completely, leaving no trace or scar whatsoever.

The guardian moved his fingertips from Zabrina's neck to her left arm as he healed her wounds, barely even touching her skin. Wake up, Zabrina, he spoke into her mind in an enchanting tone. You're safe now, he said, his voice a gentle whisper. Her eyes opened slowly, fluttering at the slightest as her vision became less blurred. "Where am I?" she managed to whisper.

"I know you, Alun, I used to work for you....sweeping hair.....and I won't tell anyone your identify if you share half your profits with me..." Damen, upon hearing this, jumped up, strangled him against the wall, repeatedly punched him in the face, and slit his throat.

Zabrina became a form of dust, and then returned to her human form, not one wound or burn visible on her skin. She stared into the guardian's eyes for a moment, but then looked away, quickly pushing her hair behind her ear. "Where's Damen?" she asked as she slowly alerted.
