"He's coming for me", Jasper replied, and he stared into her eyes absently.
He's coming for me, which means he'll try to kill me ... and Trinette. The realisation made him feel suddenly guilty, because he had endangered her by being around her; something he always seemed to end up doing. "We have to get out of here, immediately", he said, because his brother was already on his way; and considering his average speed, they didn't have much time.
Trinette placed her palm on Jasper's chest, keeping him down onto the bed. Her eyes stared into his, trying to fill him of reassurance. "I can hold him back, it's not easy to kill someone like me. Do you have any idea how many years I've been training for this?" Trinette said with a grin, flashing her white teeth.
Jasper forced a smile to form on his lips. "I just wouldn't want to be responsible for you ending up hurt, that's all", he said. "But if you think we can take him, we'll stay". He shoved his dark hair out of his eyes, which glimmered beneath the shadows it cast.
Trinette shook her head, her caramel curls bouncing with the movement. "No, I can't let you do that. I'll take care of your brother on my own, I don't want you to get hurt." Tinafornea's tone was completely serious and firm, wanting Jasper to understand her.
"Fine", Jasper agreed, lying back on the bed. "I can't even get some fries from the cafeteria? That seems tough", he murmured sarcastically, his lips curling up into a smile.
