"I'm alright,"I said quietly, looking around. The sun was just setting, so everything was coated in orange and pink, it was stunning. I let my free hand sway at my side and I glanced up at him, smiling. He just made me happy, and that was something I rarely felt lately. I lost so much... School, friends, my ability to walk for awhile.

"Well good. I hope you don't mind, but for the next few days I'm gonna be gone.." I said lightly. I had planned to go hang out with Andrew for awhile. Andrew was one of the only guys who even talked to me, mostly because he was another outcast. He'd wanted to hang out, so I figured I could, Mel had been doing so much better anyways.

"No, you deserve a few days off,"I said with a nod, looking from him to the sidewalk infront of me. I had to make sure there were no giant divets or rocks, anything I could trip on. My cane caught on absolutely everything... Carpets, grass, chair legs... I fell, a lot. I hurt... a lot... I cried, a lot.

"You sure babe? I can always tell Andrew it'll have to wait." I said this with a slight amount of regret. I did want to go, but I didn't want to make her worry or unhappy.

I smirked softly and shook my head,"No, James, I want you to go... One of us needs to get out of the house, and I, well, I abviously can't,"I said with a nod. I tapped his hand gently,"You jsut have to tell me all about it when you get back,"I said quietly, looking around as my leg began to throb. In the accident, my legs were crushed along with most of my body..."We need to turn around,"I said quietly, turning on my cane. We had made it two blocks... That was good.

"Okay, love." I said quietly. I took her hand and helped her back the other way. We walked back home and went back to bed. I laid down with a heavy sigh and tried sleeping.

I laid down in bed, staring at my hands. I sighed gently and looked up at the ceiling for a moment, feeling the water brim in my eyes. I let them close and turned onto my side, slowly falling asleep. It wasn't a very long rest, my annual nightmares beginning. I used to have them every night, and they had been going away... Tonight was just one of those nights. I began to toss, and turn at first, but then I began to cry and yelp, calling for help as, in my mind, the car was rolling.

I was up immediately, crawling into the bed next to her and holding her tightly. "Hey, hey. I'm here. It's okay, it's not real. Sweetie... You're okay." I sighed kissing her head softly. I was worried for her, scared for her.

The dream slowly began to fade, and I opened my eyes, tears streaming down my face. I turned over and looked at him in the darkness,"I-I'm sor-ry,"I said quietly, curling into him as I cried,"It's just s-so real,"I said inbetween quiet sobs.

"Don't you be sorry." I said sternly. I turned her and myself so that she was facing me. I kissed her softly, and sighed, "Even if I'm shirtless, you want me to sleep here tonight?"
