I called Robbie's boss, then I called mine. I was going to take care of him. I sat down on the edge of the bed and stroked his hair gently. "Do you want me to make you some soup?" I asked softly.

I pressed my hand to his forehead and sighed. Fever. I got up and walked to the bathroom, grabbing a small towel and running it in cold water. I wrung it out, then I sat back down on the edge of the bed, placing the wet rag on his hot forehead.

I shook my head. "No baby. I'm staying. I'm not gonna let you go through this alone." I leaned down and kissed his cheek gently. "You should get some rest..."
