"Oh, fine, fine. We'll ask him to come along," Amaris said, smirking, then looked at the sky. "It's about five-something. It gets dark at six. If we're asking him to come, we should hurry. He's probably at the inn."

Amaris followed behind, then knocked on one of the heavy wood doors.
Donovan got up when he heard someone knocking on the door, opening it. Amaris and Lilly...the village girls? What do they need? If he had been the type to blush, he would have. Lilly was pretty, but he never said anything. "Yes?"

Amaris kept a straight face. "We're going at six. We're going to be spending a few nights there, so bring your supplies." We are? When did I decide that?
Lilly's going? I can't let her go by herself....Donovan stared at them in shock and sighed. "Fine," he muttered, leaning against the door frame in defeat.

Amaris rolled her eyes and turned to Lilly. "We should stop by and snag a few things before leaving. Donovan, just meet us by the edge of the woods at five-thirty."
Donovan nodded.
