I chuckled. "Kind of hard to forget when he's been your best friend since you were eleven," I said. I blinked away tears from Maxine's sight as I sighed and added, "I miss him. So much."

"Yea it is . I miss him too i miss Lily too she helped me when i was in jams"(not james)

I was hoping she wouldn't bring Lily up, too. Too late, now, though. "Yeah ... Lily always helped people when they needed it," I said quietly, willing my voice not to crack. For a distraction, I took Harry's now empty bottle out of his mouth and placed it in the sink, before pacing across the room, Harry pressed against my chest.

"Never liked her sister. But lily was good with helping others."

I walked back into the kitchen, rubbing my eyes. I had just woken up from a rather nice nap. Remus was still upstairs. I pulled my cardigan closer around myself and sat down on the other side of the table from Sirius. He was holding Harry. I smiled at the baby, wrapping my other arm around my legs, which I'd hoisted up onto my chair. I probably looked awful, but I didn't mind. I was naturally pale, and I usually had a bed-head anyway.

"Hey, Bedhead," I said teasingly. "Have a nice nap?"

Maxine watched you and Harry sat playing . Maxine knew this might not be real family but it was her famliy even Nyphadora Tonks .
