Well, according to the movie ' 2012oomsday', the world would end on 21st Dec 2012. Also, according to scientists, there will be a solar storm which will cause a blackout. It might last for ,maybe, days, months or even years!!! Hopefully, it doesn't happen....................

Humph...The correct date was Dec, 21 2012. The date the mayan callendar ended and the world was set to go through a polar shift. Wich causes the seas to shift. Before the last polar shift Alaska as in the midle of the earth. It's not just the mayans who said that the day would end on that day, but some data shows more proof by saying that there may be a 25% chance of a planet named "Planet X" whos real name is Nibiru make hit the earth. Some countries like France are building bunkers undergroung to help survive this well not telling people so people don't freak out and jump of buildings like the time a radio station told people aliens landed in new jersey.
