I don't see anything wrong with it. My sister got her iPhone at 7. I got my first iPhone at 7 to. As long as u don't lose it or forget it I places the there is nothing wrong with giving the kid a iPhone.

It depends on the child receiving the iPhone. If they are responsible enough to keep track of it and use proper calling/texting etiquette -- and the parents would probably know that their child was reliable before they went out and bought the gadget, but there is always a chance that the parents wouldn't -- then sure, let the kid have an iPhone; however, I think there should also be at least a few restrictions. Nothing too major, of course, but just a couple -- no texting after 8 pm, for example. After that, you're good to go,

BUT! If the child is not responsible enough to keep track of their phone and use proper manners, then no, they should not have a phone; that goes without saying.

Im really not sure. I got my first phone when i was 10 but it was like an LG with a keyboard... and it used to belong to my mom. I only got it because i had to walk alone to school.
