by LollipopkbClick! I opened the door of the car. I just got off from school on a cloudy day. The air smelled soggy as I stepped outside. Rain splashed the ground like thunder. “Where’s Dad?” I asked Mom as she got my two-year-old brother named Eli (short for Elijah) from the car. “He’s looking for Lucy. That dog has been missing ever since I picked up Eli from the babysitter’s.” she said, reaching for the keys for the door. “I’m calling animal control.” I got Lucy as a gift from my cousin. She's a mix, but she really looks like a chocolate lab.
Meanwhile, Dad parked his car and went inside. “Kristin, get your homework done so you you can help find Lucy.” I finished my homework, and we drove around calling Lucy. I felt sorry for Lucy, having to walk in the rain. We missed her so much!
The next day I decided to put up fliers in my school. A lot of my friends helped me. Some people gave me suggestions on where to find her, like the pound or the Puppy Barn. Others said they haven’t seen her. We put up fliers in a ton of classrooms and gave papers to our friends, but nobody seemed to see Lucy. One of my friends comforted me. “If she doesn’t show up next week, I can put up fliers in my neighborhood.” she said cheerfully. I’m so glad I have friends like them! Finally it was the end of the day. My Mom picked me up earlier at school. “Hi Mom! Today I put the fliers up but......” Wow! Lucy was in the car! “How did you find her?” I gasped. “I saw a sign that said: FOUND: BLACK AND WHITE DOG I called the phone number on the paper and found Lucy.” she explained. I sighed in relief. Lucy was back!
The next day was Saturday. My Dad was working, but I found Mom and Eli playing with Lucy. “I thought Lucy wasn’t allowed upstairs.” I said. Lucy wasn't that trained yet, so we didn't want her ruining the place. “I talked it over with dad, and he missed her so much, he said Lucy could go upstairs. I missed Lucy too.” She said, petting the dog. “Me too!” Eli shrieked. That afternoon, we got Lucy her vaccination. She was so good with the doctors, we took her out for a walk in the park and bought her a new bone. It was like National Lucy Day. We also went to Petsmart and got her a new tag. I love my dog!
