Terran, Protoss and Zerg - three alien races, one gigantic war. That's what Starcraft is all about. You get to lead a force, gather resources and battle across big maps full of aliens and more. The game came out 10 years ago and now the sequel, Starcraft II, is here to pick up the action. Starting four years after the Starcraft: Brood War game ended, Starcraft II puts you in charge of Jim Raynor's team of warriors as they fly around the galaxy fighting aliens for a living. The Stars of Starcraft
Jim Raynor, Kerrigan the Queen of Blades, Tassadar and Zeratul - Starcraft is loaded with some of the greatest video game heroes and villains of all time. But, it's been four years for them since the last game, what are they up to now?
Jim Raynor - The grizzled Terran now leads a team of space mercenaries.
Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades - Sarah Kerrigan started human but got turned into a Human/Zerg hybrid in the first Starcraft. Now she leads the Zerg race as they emerge from four years of hiding to, well, kick butt.
Zeratul - The Protoss Dark Templar has seen some scary Zerg stuff and is in self-imposed exile at the start of Starcraft II.
Aliens in 3D
The biggest change in Starcraft II is that it's gone 3D. This lets you zoom in and swing the camera around to get a look at the fighting forces from all kinds of different angles! Check out these pictures of some game units to see the new look.
Terrans
The humans use hefty power armor suits, missile-launching airships, big robotic mechs and more to wage war against the Protoss and the Zerg.
Protoss
These alien warriors use forcefields, laser swords, psychic powers and advanced battlecruisers to fend off the Terran and Zerg forces. They can also be found in World of Warcraft as the Draenei!
Zerg
A race of giant stompy space bugs, the Zerg call themselves the Swarm and are, well, pretty darn creepy. They spawn larvae that evolve into all kinds of monsters, from vicious Zerglings to flying beasts and massive Ultralisks.
