Check out Kidzworlds review of the movie Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. Based on the book by JK Rowling, the cast includes Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Emma Watson as Hermione, and Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid.

Attention Wizards! Harry Potter is now available on DVD. If you didn't catch it on the big-screen, check it out.

Pottermania is everywhere and now, finally, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (released outside the US as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone) is available on DVD. The movie is full of magic and adventure with Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe,) Hermione (Emma Watson,) Hogwarts, Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) and tons more people and places that begin with H. Everything is just like the books. There's moving stairs, weird ghosts, goblins, magical candy and even Quidditch.

The magical, broom-riding, ball-catching, sport Quidditch has to be the coolest part of the whole Harry Potter movie. I thought it would be dorky but no way, it rocks! The players are awesome, the action is incredible and I really, really want a Nimbus 2000 broom!

Harry Potter characters Hermione and Hagrid are the best. Emma Watson plays Hermione perfectly. She's got the whole thing down from her super witchcraft to her super funky hair (she's got to do something about that mop!) Robbie Coltrane is hilarious as the giant groundskeeper Hagrid, he'd be totally cool to hang out with and has the wickedest pets.

Harry Potter the Movie follows the book from beginning to end. Even though it is a bladder-bursting two and a half-hours long, lots of stuff didn't make it into the movie (like Peeves the ghost.) Still, it's crammed full of so much cool stuff you'll have to watch it twice to catch it all! The cool part about catching Harry Potter on DVD is that you can wave your magic wand and make your own popcorn and avoid the rip-off prices for snacks at the movie theater.
