No Doubt is finally back with the follow up to their wicked break through album - 1995's Tragic Kingdom. So what can you expect? Less of the funky ska sound that has driven No Doubt from the beginning with more of a pop sound. The track New, reminds me of the cartoony smash single Just a Girl, but the rest of the album contains only a couple of up-beat tunes like Bathwater, Six Feet Under and the title track, Ex-Girlfriend.
The rest of the album is composed of Gwen singing her heart out about unfulfilling relationships. If you're a No Doubt fan I would recommend picking up the album, but don't expect to find the same lustre and spunk of Tragic Kingdom.
