Artist - Anne Geddes

Have you seen those cool pictures with a baby poking out of a flower or asleep in the weirdest places, like on a toad stool or in a pea pod? That would be the work of Anne Geddes. Her photographs can be seen on greeting cards, calendars, books, stationary, and photo albums and are published in over 50 countries around the world. These photos have won Anne a number of honors in several professional photography competitions as well as several professional awards. More than 13 million books have been sold world-wide, not to mention her other products.

Born and raised in Queensland, Australia, Anne began experimenting with a camera in her mid-twenties and soon had her style down pat. Many of her distinctive and memorable photos have been published internationally in magazines and newspapers. She now lives in Auckland, New Zealand with her business partner and husband Kel Geddes and their two children.

Another reason Anne has won the hearts of so many people is because in 1991 she created a calendar with her images and donated her proceeds to the prevention of child abuse. She raised over $50,000 from the sales of her calendar in 1992 and donated it to the same cause. Since then, her calendars have been bestsellers and over $1 million US has been donated to help prevent child abuse in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.
