Winter X Games - What's Up?

Dec 27, 2006

X Sports
The Winter X Games feature four sports and 10 events including skiing Slopestyle and skiing SuperPipe. The highlight should be the Ultracross where skiers and snowboarders race each other down an obstacle course of jumps and jibs. Prime time wipeouts are guaranteed. The best snowskaters will also be in Aspen riding rails and flying off ledges for the first ever Snowskate Best Trick Contest. Snowskating will just be a demonstration sport at this year's Games but look for it to be a full event in the future.

X Athletes
All your favorite X-Men and women will be in Aspen in 2002. Watch for snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler, who'll you'll also see at the Olympics in Salt Lake City and skier, Taylor Hall, who should both rack up medals.

X Web
If you can't make it to Aspen for the Games or can't wait to see them on TV - don't sweat it. There will be six hours of live, streaming, uncut video of your favorite X events shown every day of the Games. To watch or see highlights of the 2001 X Games, click here.

Green Day will provide the X Music at the 2002 Games. They'll be giving a live show at the Games on January 19th. You can log on to www.expn.com after the show and watch the entire concert online. Click here for more on Green Day.

Green Day won't be the only tunes at this year's Games. Each athlete will be riding their runs to a collection of their favorite songs. Moto X master, Justin Homan, will ride the Big Air event to Britney Spears while snowboarder, Autumn Rose, will do her SuperPipe run to the sounds of the Beastie Boys, Daft Punk and old school Madonna.
