Athlete of the Week

Dec 27, 2006

Will Dikembe lead the New Jersey Nets to an NBA title? Will Drew Bledsoe help the Bills move out of the NFL's basement? Will the Big Dog help the Atlanta Hawks make the playoffs. Which athlete do you think will most help their new team? or vote in the poll above.

Dikembe Mutombo Heads to NJ
The New Jersey Nets were embarrassed by the LA Lakers in the 2002 NBA Finals because they couldn't find a way to stop Shaquille O'Neal. The Nets are hoping center Dikembe Mutombo will help them avoid another disappointment. The Nets traded the much slower Todd MacCulloch and the much lazier Keith Van Horn to get Mutombo who is one of the NBA's top rebounders and shot blockers. Dikembe will definitely improve the Nets in the paint but will it be enough to hold off a Shaq Attack?

Glen Robinson Heads to Atlanta
The Atlanta Hawks have guaranteed their fans that the team will make the playoffs this year so they traded for All-Star forward, Glen Robinson, who failed to get the Milwaukee Bucks into the playoffs last year. The Big Dog can score and rebound but will Glen Robinson be enough to get the Hawks into the playoffs.

Drew Bledsoe Heads to Buffalo
After years of being the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots, Drew Bledsoe was traded to the Buffalo Bills. The Bills were one of the NFL's bottom feeders in 2001 so Drew has a tough job ahead of him. Will Drew be able to draw the Bills a winning picture?

Which player will help their new team the most? Dikembe Mutombo, Glen Robinson or Drew Bledsoe? or vote in our poll above.
