Austin Powers in Goldmember - Movie Review

Mike Myers returns to the big screen once more as the shagadelic, secret agent with bad teeth in Austin Powers in Goldmember. This time around, Austin Powers travels back to 1975 and teams up with his old flame, Foxxy Cleopatra (Beyonce Knowles,) to fight the infamous Goldmember.

Austin Powers in Goldmember will have you laughing in your seat from start to finish. In fact, there are so many funny lines that I missed a bunch of them cuz I was laughing so hard from the previous joke. Mike Myers does a smashing job playing Austin Powers, Dr. Evil, Goldmember and Fat Bastard, although Fat's character was a little weak this time 'round. Beyonce Knowles, aka Miss Foxxy Cleopatra, ("You have the right to remain sexy, sugar!") was a nice addition to the line-up. Her character (and her afro hair-do) stole the spotlight.

Even though Austin Powers in Goldmember will have you holding your gut, you can't help but notice that the plot seems to be missing at times. Maybe too many laughs and not enough secret agent stuff? Something else missing from Austin Powers: Goldmember was music. Sure there were a few tunes but the first two flicks were jam-packed with hip-shakers.

If you dig Austin Powers, and you've seen the first two flicks, then I would definitely go see Austin Powers in Goldmember. It's got more than a few chuckles in store. But if you aren't a big fan then I would wait 'til it hits your video store so you can save a few bucks and hit the rewind button on the jokes.
