Stealing Harvard Movie Review

Tom Green and Jason Lee star in the movie Stealing Harvard.
Tom Green in Stealing Harvard
Tom Green hasn't had a great track record for starring in "good movies" and normally I can't stand the guy but Stealing Harvard was surprisingly amusing. Maybe it was because of the great chemistry between Tom Green and co-star Jason Lee.

Jason Lee plays John, a decent, hard-working guy who plans to marry his fiancée (Leslie Mann) when they have $30,000 saved up. John and his fiancée finally have enough money to get married but John learns (from an old home video) that he promised to put his niece through university if she ever made it. Going to university is always a big, expensive deal but his sister is a "trailer park mom" and his niece makes it into Harvard - cha-ching!

How does he come up with the money without dipping into his wedding fund and breaking his fiancée's heart? He calls upon his best friend Duff, played by Tom Green. Duff is a bit of a dork who runs his own landscaping business and would never let his bud down, so he decides to help him get the Harvard dough. Duff's ideas aren't exactly the best... actually none of them are legal and the two guys end up in some interesting and funny predicaments.

Duff is such a spaz, and he's so gross - like when he melts a block of cheese and licks it off a plate. He'll have you laughing cuz he's soooo nasty - typical Tom Green. John is a cutie and Jason Lee does a great job playing the character. If you're looking for a quirky comedy with an interesting storyline then Stealing Harvard is a flick for you! But, if you're looking for something with depth (and no melting cheese,) check out something else at the local cineplex.
