Judy Blume - Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret.

Margaret Simon is 11 years old and her world is being turned upside down. Her parents decide to move her to the suburbs of New Jersey just as she's about to start 6th grade and puberty is taking a bit longer than Margaret would like to start working its magic. All the other girls in her new school are starting to wear training bras and crush on boys but Margaret just isn't quite there yet. She really wants to fit into her new school though, so soon Margaret finds herself a member of the super-secret PTS club - which stands for the Pre-Teen Sensations. While getting to know her new friends, Margaret also learns a lot about herself, her values and life in general. A must-read for all pre-teen sensations!

This novel is set in 1947 - World War II is over and Sally and her family are headed to Miami for some fun in the sun. Sally is the kind of kid who lets her imagination run wild and explore worlds you probably would never think of. Despite the book being set more than 50 years ago, Sally is a totally relatable character. She's going through the same things that most young girls are - she just puts a creative twist on them. Judy Blume - Iggie's House

When Winnie's best friend Iggie moves away to Japan, she is convinced she's going to have the worst summer ever. Soon though, a new family moves into Iggie's old house - and they have three kids for Winnie to play with. Perfect, right? Well, while Winnie is accepting of her new neighbors, the rest of her all-white neighborhood is not happy about the arrival of a black family in town. This is a great story of acceptance and tolerance.

Judy Blume - Blubber

All of Judy Blume's novels deal with some sort of childhood issue and in Blubber it's bullying. Jill is an ordinary 5th grader who gets caught up in a mean game of name calling, just because the other kids in her class are doing it. She doesn't think to worry about the feelings of the girl they're making fun of... until the tables are turned on her. This is by far one of Judy Blume's best books and is based on a situation that everyone has been in at one time in their lives.
