Suikoden IV: PS2 Game Cheat - Final Boss Walkthrough

Kidzworld member RPGgamer was in chat and had a question for Gary about how to beat the last boss in Suikoden IV for the Playstation 2. The final battle is against a massive tree that can really lay some smackdown on your party of brave heroes, but there are ways to beat it! Here's a walkthrough for the Giant Tree boss, straight from Cheat Street – the home to all the game cheats, codes, secrets, hints, tips and walkthroughs for your fave games!

Suikoden IV for PS2: The 411 on the Final Boss

The final boss is a Giant Tree with a horde of elemental attacks that spawns Seeds of Light that can make their own attacks! The Giant Tree has 13,000hp and the Seeds of Light have 3,000hp each. The tree will attack for about 120 damage each turn, plus an attack from a seed. Once the tree is down to half health, it flashes white then hits your whole party for about 250 damage! The tree also constantly changes color, each color makes it a different elemental type and each one has a weakness! Here's a list of what each color makes it weak against:

Red = weak against Water.

Orange = weak against Fire.

Blue = weak against Lightning.

Green = weak against Wind.

Yellow = weak against Earth.

Use the right attacks against the tree to do heaps of damage.

Suikoden IV: Final Boss Battle Tips & Tricks

It's a tree. A really, really, really big tree, but it's still a tree. Does anyone in your party have a chainsaw? No? Dang! Ok, then here's a list of stuff you should do before the battle.

1. Don't waste your magic as you battle through the fort.

2. Build up your Rush Meter, but don't use it until the boss battle.

3. Rest your party on the couch in the fort before facing the boss.

4. Heal and save your game at the top of the stairs before the boss battle.

Now, when you battle the tree, here's what you do - only attack the seeds that glow orange – they do 100 damage to your whole party!

Use elemental attacks that the tree is weak against.

When the boss is down to half health and flashes white, use Rush Attack to make it skip its turn so it doesn't hit everybody for 250 damage!

Save some big healing magic, like Kindness Rain, in case Rush Attacks doesn't work.

With these tips, and some luck, you'll kick the tree's... um, roots?

Suikoden IV: Final Duel

After you beat the giant tree into toothpicks, you have a final duel against Troy. Here's what he says, and the attack he makes afterwards.

"..." = Attack

"Humph" = Attack

"I will settle this with the next move." = Guard

"Prepare yourself!" = Guard

"Sorry... but I will take your life with one more move." = Guard

"Then... here I go!" = Special

"Yield to my sword." = Special
