Young Jedi :: Collectible Card Game Review

Aug 25, 2020

With the Young Jedi Collectible Card Game (YJ:CCG) you can collect all your fave droids, Jedi and aliens from Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace. Then you can command them and fight for Naboo, Coruscant and other planets.

You start the game with a starter deck of cards, 30 light side and 30 dark side. You and a buddy pick a side, draw cards and decide who goes first. The first guy plops down a location from the movies - The Jedi council chamber, or maybe a swamp on Naboo - then your character cards fight over it. You play aliens, Jedi, droids, weapons and battle cards to power up your side. You win by wiping out your opponent on two different planets, or by having them run out of cards.

The battle plan system is a cool feature of the combat system - it adds some wicked strategy to combat. Unfortunately, that's about all there is for coolness when it comes to basic card game. You need to head to www.decipher.com and check out the Jedi Lightsaber Dueling Rules to add some kick to your battles.

The cards themselves are top-notch. They have pictures from the movies and cool graphics so they're totally styling. You can add to your collection with booster packs or by trading with your buddies.

YJ:CCG is cool for [kwlink224]Star Wars fans, or people looking for a simple card game that's more fun than solitaire.[/kwlink224]
