Beat the summer heat with a cool splash in a pool. We look at a few and here are our reviews!

The summer heat can be a cooker, but nothing cools you off like a quick splash in a pool! And a pool is a great start to having an awesome party - from splashing around during the day, to setting it up so you can see the TV and having an evening dive-in movie with all of your new friends. We checked out some of the pools Intex has to offer, plus some basic backyard pool info.

Splishing and Splashing - Easy Set Pools

Intex's Easy Set Pools are the way to go if you want to dip your toes into a backyard pool. Starting as small as 8' x 30", you can fit them in most yards. Or, you can go hog wild with one of the 18' x 48" monsters if you want to soak your whole neighborhood. They're solid pools that hold up to people climbing in & out and even come with filter pumps to keep the water clean. Easy Set Pools are a easy to set up too! The DVD instructions make it a snap, although an air pump helps.

Thumbs Up:

  • Nice and sturdy, you can use them for years.
  • Easy to set up, complete with DVD.
  • Filter pump keeps it clean.
  • Salt water filter option = bye-bye chemicals = awesome!

Thumbs Down:

  • No air pump = hard to inflate top ring.
  • Bigger models need a pool ladder.

Pool Setup Basics

No matter what pool you grab, you need to do a few things. First is a clear flat spot to set it up - make sure it's level! If you need to, grab a shovel and do some digging. Then, unless you want to pack your pool up at night, you need a pool cover. There's a size for each pool so get the one you need. Finally, a ground sheet is handy. You can get them for your pool, or you can just get a big plastic tarp.
