Tube Buzz | Ben Affleck | Matt Damon | Project Greenlight

1 Matt Damon and Ben Affleck wrote Good Will Hunting together when they were nobodies and the film went on to win them an Oscar. Now, these two buddies from Boston are giving that chance to someone else. Ben and Matt held a contest for wannabe screenwriters.

The winner not only got his film made (with a million dollar budget) but the whole process became a documentary for HBO called, Project Greenlight. The documentary will be 13 episodes and began airing December 2nd. Ben and Matt are featured throughout the process. The winning film is titled Stolen Summer and was written by a Chicago guy named Pete Jones. It will be released next year (2002.)

1The People's Choice Awards were announced last week. Some of the nomineees include Shrek, Pearl Harbor and The Fast and the Furious for Best Picture and Oprah Winfrey, Calista Flockhart and Jennifer Aniston for Best Female Television Performer. The thing about these awards is, judging by nominees like Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson for Favorite Motion Picture Actor, you don't have to have had a movie out this year to get nominated.

1 If you're looking for some tube time that fills you with the Christmas spirit this week - the networks won't let you down. At 8pm on Thursday, December 6, 2001 you can catch the classic A Charlie Brown Christmas on ABC. This is a favorite of many, afterall, who can resist that crappy little tree Charlie gets? Kinda makes you sad your parents got a big, full one.
