Dec 27, 2006
Birthdate: February 22, 1968

Jeri Ryan Army Brat

Jeri Lynn Ryan is no stranger to change. Born in Munich, Germany she moved to the US as a child and moved around a lot because her dad was in the army. Growing up Jeri Ryan lived everywhere from Texas to Maryland, to Hawaii to Kansas - and that was all before she hit 11!

Jeri Ryan Is Seven of Nine

Jeri Ryan's career as an actress has been filled with changes as well. She's had roles on tons of different shows like Melrose Place (a 90s show about catty 20-somethings), Matlock (about an old laywer) and Dark Skies (about secret government stuff.) Jeri Ryan's big break came when the former Miss USA contestant snagged a role as a beautiful Borg in Star Trek Voyager. Jeri Ryan played Borg alien Seven of Nine on Star Trek Voyager for three years until the show ended in May of 2001.

Jeri Ryan Teaches High School

So where does a talented actress go after spending three years in rubber face make-up in outer space? To school, of course. David E. Kelley wrote a role specifically for Jeri Ryan in his hit show, Boston Public. Jeri Ryan plays Ronnie Cooke, a woman who decides to give up a cushy law job to teach high school. Having Jeri Ryan be your English teacher would be just about as cool as having Britney Spears be your prom date, don't ya think? And you don't have to worry about Ms. Cooke getting fired by that nasty Mr. Gruber anytime soon. Jeri Ryan signed on for six seasons of Boston Public!

Jeri Ryan Says...

"How do you turn down David Kelley? I mean, he's a brilliant writer. And I really came into this show sight unseen, as far as the character, because he hadn't written it. He wrote it for me, which is a huge, huge honor."
