1The New York Yankees have their man. The Yanks signed first baseman Jason Giambi to a seven-year contract worth 120 million dollars (slightly more than your allowance.) Jason played in Oakland last season where he hit 38 homers and drove in 120 RBIs in 2001.

1You'll soon know which of your favorite NHL stars will be playing at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Team Canada will name the rest of its team on December 15th - Mario Lemieux has already been picked as captain. Team USA will name the rest of its team on December 19th. Chris Chelios, Brett Hull and Brian Leetch have already been picked to skate for the Americans.

1Even if Super Bowl XXXVI turns out to be a crappy game, the half-time show should be at worth watching. U2 and the Backstreet Boys will headline the 2002 half-time event. The Super Bowl will be played February 3, 2002 in New Orleans. If she's not too busy filming Glitter 2 or trying to find her way out of a straight jacket, Mariah Carey will sing the National Anthem.

1You'll see a new event at the 2002 NBA All-Star Week. All-Star Hoop-It-Up is a 3-on-3 tournament with four teams which will each have one NBA player, one WNBA player, one NBA legend and one celebrity. The legend and the celebrity will be able to substitute for one another. You could see a lineup with Michael Jordan, Chamique Holdsclaw, Dennis Rodman and Wil Smith!

1Don't miss NBA Inside Stuff on Saturday, December 15th. Frankie Muniz will make a guest appearance on the show. The star of Malcolm in the Middle will be given a mission to get the "inside stuff" on his favorite team, the LA Clippers (No, that's not a typo.)
