On the first episode of That 80s Sho teens got to go back in time for a glimpse of the 80s. Meet the wannabe rockstar, the punk, the bopper, the nerd, the fashion plate and a dorky dad.
January 23, 2001, That '80s Show aired on Fox. Teens got the opportunity to go back in time and get a glimpse of the '80s. Meanwhile, '80s kids had the chance to revisit their youth and cringe over some of the hideous fashion trends.
Corey, a wannabe musician who works in a record shop, gets dumped by his girlfriend Sophia. The plot thickens when Corey's sister Katie discovers Sophia has a crush on her. This was pretty funny cuz poor Katie doesn't know how to react when Sophia surprises her with a big kiss! Can you say awkward?
Corey has other distractions going on like the new punk girl (Tuesday) who works at the record store with him. They're like oil and water at first but I think they could end up getting together... Strange but that's the way it works sometimes - you end up with the guy you hate. This is one plot line I would really like to see go somewhere.
We're also introduced to Corey's dad, a guy who tries a little too hard to be cool by wearing Miami Vice-influenced fashions like pastel colored blazers with rolled up sleeves and a T-shirt. Then there's Corey's best friend, Roger. He's kind of a geek who listens to positive reinforcement tapes and loves Ronald Reagan - but he has his quirky moments. It should make for an interesting friendship between the two.
