Super Bowl Weekend

1The New England Patriots won their first Super Bowl and pulled off one mother of a big upset by beating the heavily favored St. Louis Rams 20 - 17. Adam Vinatieri booted a 48 yard field goal with no time left to win the game. Patriots' quarterback, Tom Brady, was named the game's MVP. For more on the game, click here.

1The World outscored North America 8 - 5 to win the NHL All-Star Game in Los Angeles. As usual, there was no hitting, no fights and none of the players actually seemed to care that they were even playing. Eric Daze was named the game's MVP even though his team lost - yet another reason why the game is a total joke.

1The US men's soccer team won the 2002 Gold Cup by shutting out Costa Rica 2 - 0. Josh Wolff scored the winner for the USA whose next big tournament is the 2002 World Cup. Canada took third place at the tournment by beating South Korea 2 - 1.

1The NBA has announced the competitors in the the 2002 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. The four aerial masters you'll see this year are Steve Francis of the Houston Rockets, Jason Richardson of the Golden State Warriors, Gerald Wallace of the Sacramento Kings and last year's winner, Desmond Mason of the Sonics. The high flying dunk fest takes place on February 9th. For the first time, you can help pick the winner by logging on to www.nba.com during the contest and casting your vote.
