Kidzworld just got back from a sneak peek at Eddie Murphy’s new movie Imagine That, which opens to the rest of the public on June 12, 2009. But check out our review of the film, below, before you head to the theatre so you know what you’re in for!

Family Fun

Basically this is a an off-the-wall family comedy that may start out a bit slow but, as soon as it picks up some speed gets really, really good. Another good thing is it’s the kind of movie you can take the whole family to – adults, teens, tweens, kids and everyone in-between will get a kick out of Eddie Murphy’s latest performance.

Happy Ending

So we’re not really giving too much away by telling you that there’s a happy ending to the story in the film – we figured your probably already knew that anyway. But even though it flows and ends the way you would expect, there’s something different – something quirky – about this movie.

Imaginary Friends

Eddie Murphy plays a financial hot-shot named Evan Danielson. Aside from his day job Evan is also a dad who isn’t really there – physically or emotionally – for his seven-year-old daughter, Olivia, who’s played Yara Shahidi. So when Evan has to take care of Olivia all by himself for a whole week, he’s not really prepared for what’s about to happen.

Without giving away too much info, Olivia shows her dad a whole new – imaginary – world. And in this make-believe place live Olivia’s imaginary friends, who just so happen to be experts at predicting what’s going to happen on the stock market in the future – something that definitely makes workaholic Evan sit up and take notice!

Celeb Cameos

When you go see this movie be on the lookout for cool cameos from Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets and his teammate Allen Iverson.
