The Bachelorette 5 :: Episode 8 Recap

Jul 08, 2009

This week on The Bachelorette, Jillian and the four remaining bachelors travel to one of the world’s most romantic getaways—Spain! Will Jillian finally see the manipulative side of Wes that has been frustrating viewers week after week?

Kiptyn’s Date

During their date, Kiptyn expresses his strong feelings for Jillian. But Jillian is slightly discouraged when he admits that he thinks a proposal is far off. Later, Jillian and Kiptyn hit the Spanish streets in style...on a moped! They learn to flamenco dance and perform on stage in super tight costumes before heading off to a romantic dinner.

Reid’s Date

With Reid, the laughter is endless. He and Jillian know very little Spanish, and struggle to buy food in the marketplace. During their picnic, Jillian gets Reid to express his feelings, which comes less naturally to him than speaking Spanish. Reid is different than the other guys: he’s quirky, natural and isn’t afraid to call Jillian out.

Ed’s Date

Now that Ed has returned from his two week absence, he has some serious catching up to do. He and Jillian have deep conversations about life and kids while enjoying a romantic carriage ride and dinner. Later, Jillian uses the fantasy suite to spend the night—just cuddling—with Ed.

Wes’s Date

What could be more fun than riding bikes in Spain and enjoying a romantic picnic? Pretty much anything in Wes’s opinion. He shows her no affection the entire date. During an emotional dinner, he slips up by accidentally calling his supposed ex-girlfriend, his girlfriend.

The Rose Ceremony

Jillian has never been more sure of who to send home. While the guys wait nervously, Wes is antsy to get the heck out of there. On his limo ride out, he proudly admits that he’s the first guy to make it to the top four with a girlfriend!
