Sore loser sports quotes. Athletes insult other athletes. Martina Hingis insults the Williams sisters. Charles Barkley is a snob. - Page 2

Most professional athletes get paid millions of dollars to travel all over the world playing the sport they love. But, some of them still feel the need to whine, complain and act like a little kid when things don't go their way. These ones are the sore losers of the bunch. Kidzworld says, "Grow Up!"

1 When professional tennis player Martina Hingis felt threatened by her competitors, Venus and Serena Williams, she was quoted in Time magazine as saying:

"Being black only helps them. Many times they get sponsors because they are black. And they have had a lot of advantages because they can always say, 'It's racism.' They can always come back and say, 'Because we are this color, things happen.'" Needless to say, Martina got shunned big-time for these comments.

1 Some pros think that winning the game is the only thing that matters. This is what baseball player George Brett thinks about losing:

"If a tie is like kissing your sister, losing is like kissing your grandmother with her teeth out." Can you say sore loser?

1 And here's some words between two National Football League players:

"Shannon looks like a horse. I'll tell you, that's an ugly dude ... You can't tell me he doesn't look like Mr. Ed." - Falcons cornerback Ray Buchanan on Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe.

"Ray said that? Well, I think he's ugly but did I ever call him that? No. Tell Ray to put the eyeliner, the lipstick and the high heels away. I'm not saying he's a cross-dresser; that's just what I heard."- Shannon Sharpe responding to Ray Buchanan.

1I guess it's inevitable that athletes get cocky and rude, what with all the fans cheering and the money pouring in. Listen to what Charles Barkley had to say about his wages:

"I don't listen to the refs. I don't listen to anyone who makes less money than I do."

Holy snob!

1 When professional golfer, Ernie Els wouldn't speak to runner-up Tiger Woods during a 20-minute delay on the course, he said this in his defence:

"It was getting tight. I don't know what I would have said to him. I don't know if I would have punched him or kicked him in the knees. We were very competitive. He's a good friend of mine, but I can say hello to him at some other time."

Maybe Ernie Els and Charles Barkley should get together some time for tea and crumpets and talk about how great they are and how much money they make. Talk about losers.

So there you have it folks. Money and fame can really wear down some athletes and cause them to be total jerks.
