Monopoly City Streets Review

Jul 10, 2018

We hardly know anyone who isn’t a Monopoly fan. It doesn’t matter how old you are, what your hobbies are, what you do in your spare time – break out the old Monopoly board and everyone wants to join in the fun! Now the famous board game’s come out with a new edition called Monopoly City Streets - will it be better or worse than the original?

3-D Play

Instead of playing an owner or investor Monopoly City has you act out the role of a developer – it’s your job to actually build 3-D skyscrapers and other buildings, like schools, stadiums, parks and even energy-efficient power plants, from the ground up, rather than just buy them from the bank.

And in this version of the game you’ll have to stay alert for far more hazards than a rival buyer or costly stay fees – sewage plants and prisons can be used to devalue the properties of various players!

High-Tech Stakes

Also very knew in this spin on the classic game is its online companion game, Monopoly City Streets at www.monopolycitystreets.com. This virtual version of Monopoly City is actually powered by Google Maps. and, since September 9, players have been logging in to the website to “buy,” “trade” and even “bulldoze” (not really, of course) real streets around the world in real time!

Our advice: If you’ve ever dreamed of owning the street you live on – or any other street on the map – act fast and play wisely!
