WWF Superstar The Rock stars in The Scorpion King - get Kidzworlds movie review here!

When you hit the theater to check out a movie starring WWF wrestling superstar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson you know what to expect - lots of fighting, muscle-bound meatheads and cheesy action. And that's what The Scorpion King dishes up.

The Scorpion King is set in ancient Egypt and is the story of the skilled assassin Matthayus (played by The Rock) and how, by fighting against the evil swordmaster Memnon and his hottie sorcerer (Kelly Hu,) he becomes the Scorpion King. The movie is full of ancient cities, old forts and sprawling deserts for Matthayus to battle evil in and it looks great.

The Rock, the most electrifying man in sports entertainment today, is the best part of The Scorpion King. He supercharges it with his personality and his huge action scenes - and he can even act! Keep an eye on this big dude - he's going to be a huge movie star. Maybe even the next Ah-nold.

The Scorpion King isn't perfect though, and even The Rock can't lay enough of a smackdown to make it a champion flick. But the action scenes are good, and The Rock has some great lines. The sidekicks are rejects from an episode of Xena, the story is predictable and Michael Clark Duncan is too clumsy to do action scenes.

If you're in the mood to leave your brain behind and watch a fun B movie, The Scorpion King is a fun way to eat a jumbo bucket of popcorn and guzzle pop with your buds. Make sure you're still awake at the end - the final battle rocks!
