I want iPad? Here's why or why not!

Aug 21, 2010

It all began with the iPod. Now there’s iPhones, iTV, iTunes, iTouch, and the new iPad. Kidzworld takes a peek at this sleek new way to read books, watch movies, play games, browse the net and use all those apps that can make life easy.

Sweet Size

The iPad is somewhere in between an iTouch and a MacBook. The main reason why you might want an iPad over the iTouch is because of the size. They both can do everything the same, except sometimes it’s just a little too small to be reading off a 3-inch iTouch screen.

Back in Business for Books

The iPad is really easy to read. It’s light and easier to hold just like the perfect book. It’s the most perfect thing for the latest craze… eBooks. Libraries are back in business because of eBooks. Now when you sign up for a library card, you can load up your iPad with eBooks from your public library.

Classroom Companion

Another great way to use an iPad is at school. It makes organizing fun and easy. There are tons of ways to keep track of all your school projects, schedules, and friends. Not to mention if you ever have to make a little class presentation, you can quickly refer to videos on youtube, maps on google, or picture slideshows that you create.

Losing to Laptops

OK, the iPad is a lot cheaper than buying a laptop, but even an older model MacBook has a lot more functionality and you can probably get one for the same price. Laptops are just easier to type and use big programs like Word, Photoshop, Video Editing, and just most types of actual work. Laptops can connect to printers and other devices with USB that your iPad won’t.

Overall the iPad is just a luxury that should not be considered a replacement for your computer. The iTouch still rules over the iPad in terms of Bang for your Buck.
