The recently released Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue for Nintendo DS is a colorful and creative video game. The story is based off of the new Disney movie of the same name (starring Raven-Symone, Jesse McCartney and Lauren Mote) and centers around Tinker Bell and her fairy friends.

Fairy Fun

Players are able to create their own avatar, which can be one of six different types of fairies. You can then customize your fairy, choosing her outfit, hairstyle, eye color and accessories.

Tinker Bell acts as a guide throughout the game, advising players of what their next move should be. She assigns you tasks and then you are free to adventure around Fairy Camp, completing assignments, playing mini games, doing crafts and baking cookies! The end goal for the player is to plant and grow a rare Rainbow Lily and help bring summer to Fairy Camp.

After completing each task, players will receive awards (seeds, clothes, etc) that can be used throughout the game. One of the best aspects of the game is that you can dress your fairy in new outfits. You can also grow your own garden and take care of the flowers by watering and petting them.

Worth Playing

The controls are very easy and enjoyable in this game. You can control the movements of your fairy by gliding the DS wand across the screen and tapping on the objects and fairies you want to interact with. Overall, it is a very colorful and lively game that has lots of energy and is enjoyable to play for long periods of time. It would be an ideal game to bring on a long trip or vacation. Players can also connect to PixieHollow.com, where they can upload their fairy and continue the fun with Tinker Bell and her friends.
