Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet (Wii)

Nov 25, 2010

We love the Marvel Super Hero Squad cartoon – but does it make a good game for Wii? Find out by reading Kidzworld’s review of the second game in the series, Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet

The Story

Every good game needs a good story behind it, and this one’s no different. In Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet for Wii, Iron Man and the Hulk are in space, buying a birthday present for Thor. But the store mixes up their order with that of Thanos, and the super heroes end up with a funny-looking glove called an Infinity Gauntlet. And, when they try to return it to Thanos, the find out about his evil plot to fill the gauntlet with six Infinity Stones and conquer the universe. To make a long story short, you gotta collect all six stone – before the bad guy does.

The Game

This game has 12 episodes, each one featuring a different pair of characters to play with. Some of the episodes are pretty funny – like the one where Wolverine and Iron Man are game show contestants trying to win the Soul Stone. There are lots of inside jo0kes for Marvel fans in this game.

The Characters

One of the best things about this game are the many cool characters that it features (and that are playable!) – think Quicksilver, Nova, the Invisible Woman, Black Widow, She-Hulk and Spider-Man! Each character is out into one of six “factor” classes that gives him or her different abilities or ways of interacting in the game. Plus, if you pre-ordered the game you get three unlockable characters: Captain America, Bucky and the Red Skull.

The Modes

Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet includes three different modes. In Story Mode, you go through all 12 levels in order to try and save the universe. Next there’s Freeplay Mode, where you can skip back to previous levels that you’ve played using different characters to find hidden objects, collect trophies and complete different feats to unlock extra challenges or costumes. Last, there’s Challenge Mode, which features lots of fun challenges, puzzles, races, battles, etc. Tons of stuff to do in this game – you’ll never get bored!
