Pokémon Black and White Review

Mar 17, 2011

Black and White

Pokémon Black and White was released in North America on March 6, bringing us over 150 brand new never-before seen Pokemon and many new features. Pokémon Black and Pokémon White were rated a perfect 40/40 by the prestigious Japanese magazine Famitsu Magazine – becoming only the 15th game in the history of video games to receive the perfect score.

New Features

This game is packed with new features – from rotation and triple battles to enhanced graphics, it is a huge leap from HeardGold and SoulSilver. The rotation and triple battles make battling more fun and prompts the players to think more about which Pokémon they have in their party and which moves each one should learn. The enhanced graphics take the players into the world of Pokémon and really helps players get into the story.

Storyline

The storyline is new and interesting. While fighting a “cult” that preaches the release of Pokémon, players will discover the history of the Unova region and finally come face to face with the legendary Pokémon that made the Unova Region: Reshiram and Zekrom.

After the Elite Four

After beating the Elite Four, there are still a lot to do! Visit the Black City if you have Pokémon Black, and White Forest if you have Pokémon White. In Black City you can buy things otherwise not available in the game; in White Forest you can catch Pokémon from previous generations! You can also trade people from these areas with friends who own the other copy of the game and expand your City/Forest! This promotes interaction with other players. Along with the C-Gear, this is one of the most interactive Pokémon games.

Conclusion

Overall, this game has a lot of improvements from previous Pokémon games and take the adventure to a whole new level. I give this game 5 stars (out of 5), what about you?
