Dogs and football combine for hours of fun in Jerry Rice & Nitus’ Dog Football for Nintendo Wii. Find out all the details in Kidzworld’s review.

Put on your jersey and hit the field with retired NFL football star Jerry Rice. Join Jerry and his pooch Nitus as they toss the ball around and try to score as many touchdowns as possible.

Paw Play

In Full Season Mode, up to four players compete against other teams in the Pet Sports League in order to win bragging rights and the Golden Hydrant trophy. When your team has the ball you have four chances to get the ball past the first down line. If you can do this you get to keep playing. If not, the ball goes to the other team. In order to win the game you need to get the ball into your end zone as many times as possible.

Tricks & Picks

Don’t have time for a whole game? Test out your moves and learn more about each dog in Practice Mode. You can train the dogs so they will win their next game and get to know what skills each dog is best at. Want to get creative? Customize Mode lets you pick a quarterback and create a custom team. You can choose your team colors, outfits and names! Head back to Full Season Mode and you can play using your new team.

Touchdown

If you are looking for a serious football game, Jerry Rice & Nitus’ Dog Football is not for you. But, if you are looking for a unique approach to a classic game, you will really enjoy it! Apart from getting a touchdown, you can earn agility reward factor points for leaping onto objects, running through tunnels and knocking things over.  You can also earn Doggy Dollars by finding hidden gift boxes. Grab some friends (maybe even your pooch!) and enjoy some doggie football. Bonus: You can even get a rubber dog bone cover to go over your Wii remote.
