Animal Olympic Athletes

Jul 10, 2018

Jamaica’s Usain Bolt might be the fastest man in the world, but he’s not the fastest animal. There are so many animals that could be awesome athletes. It’s too bad we can’t get them into the Olympics. But wait a minute! Kidzworld has figured out who the gold medal winners are for the first ever Animal Olympics.

100-Meter Sprint

Charlie the Cheetah came in first place for the fastest sprinter reaching the speed of 70 mph during his sprint. Accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds, Charlie hit the 100-meter dash in just 3.33 seconds. That’s 6 seconds faster than Usain.

Swimming  Superstar

Michael Phelps swims about 5 mph.  Move over Michael! Sarah, the Cosmopolitan Sailfish, smashed all your records. She was clocked at 68 mph and that was just her backstroke.

Flying Phenomenon

There is no gold medal for the fastest flying person at the Olympics... obviously. But the animals have one. All the top birds showed up to the airtrack to race and Peter the Peregrine Falcon beat out all the Bald Eagles with a speed of 124 mph for the horizontal and 200 mph for the vertical freefall.

Daring and Diving

Gabriella the Gannet won the gold medal for best diver. Her aerodynamic head reached the speed of 60 mph upon hitting the water… making the smallest splash which ultimately is the way to win any diving event.

Battles and Boxing

Karl the Kangeroo was disqualified from the Animal Olympics from almost a sure gold medal in the Boxing event. Karl was winning his boxing match until he gave his opponent the knockout blow, which was a kick. Kicking in Olympic boxing is an immediate disqualification.

Ryan, the Rhinoceros Beatle, squatted 850 times his own weight proving to all insects and animals that he is pound for pound… oops… gram for gram… the strongest animal in the World.

X Games Addition

So there is no x-game events at the human Olympics, but Kidzworld thought that skateboarding should be the main event at the Animals Olympics. A bunch of different bulldogs showed up for the event and Tillman took the gold medal.
