2012 NBA Conference Finals Preview

May 28, 2012

The San Antonio Spurs have tied the record for the longest winning streak, 19 games, kept alive in the NBA Playoffs and they have become the most feared team amongst the remaining four in the Conference Finals. The Oklahoma City Thunder are getting their taste of the poison right now and the winner of the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat could be the final victims of this unstoppable "Spurring" force.

Spur-ific

The Spurs ended the regular season on a 10-0 run and they have swept the first two rounds of the playoffs easily knocking off the Utah Jazz and LA Clippers in 8 straight games. Now they are up against the Thunder and they came from behind to beat them in game 1 to tie the LA Lakers for the 4th greatest playoff start in NBA history, and they're not finished yet.

So can the Spurs be the first team ever to win every game in the playoffs? Hmmm, I think Kevin Durant will have something to say about that. Kevin is probably the best player in the game right now and he definitely knows how to win. The toughest games San Antonio will play will be games 3 and 4 in Oklahoma where the Thunder are also perfect in these playoffs. In fact, the Thunder have only lost one other game in these Playoffs. It should be a tight series.

Least in the East

On the other hand, Lebron James has a big fat shamrock in his path to his first NBA title as they play the Boston Celtics in their Conference Finals. Lebron and Dwayne Wade have been looking a little bit tired in their last few games trying to get past the Indiana Pacers. Do they have enough gas in the tank to get to the Finals, nevertheless challenge the Spurs and the Thunder? Probably not... Kidzworld is guessing that the real championship final is the Western Conference Final and whoever wins that will go on to be the Kings of the NBA.
