Apr 09, 2013

This week on The Carrie Diaries (Season 1, Episode 13), all this season's secrets are revealed in the first season finale. Read Kidzworld’s recap of “Kiss Yesterday Goodbye,” which aired on April 8th, 2013, to discover what you missed.

With only 13 episodes, season 1 finishes up with a bang as all the season's secrets are unleashed. There is cheating, lying, sex, bravery and potentially the end of a lifelong friendship.

Secrets Revealed

Carrie is depressed about her break up with Sebastian. So when he shows up at her house and apologizes, she couldn't be happier. Not only does she have her boyfriend back, but she has a date for her junior prom. But their relationship doesn't last long when Maggie accidently reveals a secret that she and Sebastian had agreed to keep from Carrie; they saw her dad making out with a woman in a car. Furious, Carrie breaks up with Sebastian again for not telling her the truth, even if he was trying to protect her.

Mouse's Boyfriend

All the friends ditch the junior prom this episode. Mouse, who is forced to go to prom with a seventh grade nerd of her parent's choosing, decides to stand up to them after learning that their ancestors are not from the Ching Dynasty. Instead they are decendants of slaves. So she ditches the nerd and bravely tells her strict parents about her boyfriend West. Mouse finds him at the diner and they share a dance together.

A Big Mistake

Meanwhile, Maggie and Sebastian wind up at the bar, both using their fake IDs. With Carrie mad at them both, they get drunk. Maggie reveals her insecurities, which are especially strong now that she knows Walt is gay. She and Sebastian wind up sleeping together, a decision they both regret immediately. Later that night, Carrie shows up at Sebastian's house, apologizing and telling him that she wants to have sex. Feeling guilty, Sebastian suggest they lay together that night instead.

Summer in Manhattan

The next morning, Maggie tells Carrie the truth, but Carrie doesn't take it well. She accuses Maggie of being selfish, and won't even speak to Sebastian. It looks like Carrie may be moving on from her past, specifically from Maggie and Sebastian, as she and Walt stay in Larissa's flat in Manhattan for the summer.

Also...

As for the rest of the cast, Dorrit loses her virginity to her older boyfriend, Tom Bradshaw realizes that Carrie knows about the woman he's dating, and Walt shares his first kiss with a guy.
