America's Next Top Model: Cycle 20, Episode 5 :: The Girl Who Went Around in Circles

Aug 24, 2013

This week on America's Next Top Model (Cycle 20, Episode 5), the contestants embody trailer park chic! Read Kidzworld’s recap of “The Girl Who Went Around in Circles,” which aired on August 23th, 2013, to discover what you missed.

The Spinning Runway

This week, the contestants were given the ultimate runway challenge for Nylon Magazine: a catwalk that spins like a turntable. Everyone had trouble hopping aboard the turntable, particularly the girls, who were in heals. Nina's nerves were on high because her ankle has been growing more and more painful since a high-healed accident during audition week. Fortunately, she managed to complete her walk without any spills or broken bones. Jourdan rocked her runway walk, which is no surprise given that that's her strength. She won the challenge.

Trailer Park Chic

Their photo shoot this week took place at a trailer park, where Johnny wanted the models to meld the high fashion world with the redneck society. He called the style "trailer park chic." A lot of the models brought great, high-fashion energy to their photo shoots. Although a few struggled. Mike, who has no modeling experience, still couldn't figure out what to do with his face and body. He wound up with a shot that looked like a regular guy hunched over in a lawn chair. Jeremy also struggled because his naturally squinty eyes were made more squinty by the glare of the photographer's props.

Elimination

Jourdan not only won the challenge this week, but she was also awarded best photo. Looks like she's not just a pretty face after all! After combining the judges scores with the challenge and fan vote scores, two males were left in the bottom 2: Jeremy and Mike. Jeremy, who has the best male body in the competition, doesn't know how to use it to his advantage. Meanwhile, Mike may have just gotten lucky last week with an amazing shot. With the scores added up, Mike was eliminated.
