Disney's California Adventure Park

Dec 27, 2006

Greetings from California. I couldn't wait for this day... and now that it's here, I'm all trippin'-over-the-tongue girl. As you may or may not know, Simon is here for the summer to be part of the one-big-happy with me and the 'rents. After all the airport hugs, I asked Simon what he missed most about California. His list was longer than a DirtDawg, so my 'rents decided the best way to see the Golden State in a day was to check out Disney's California Adventure Park.

Sindy's Review of Disney's California Adventure Park

Lucky for the lil' ones (and my sis) that Disneyland is just next door, cuz except for A Bug's Land and Hollywood Pictures Backlot, California Adventure is all about the big thrills. My head is still spinning from my too many trips on the coaster supreme, California Screamin'. Loved it! And I'm sure that if free-falling 18 stories was my idea of a good time, Mailboomer would be near the top of my where-to-scream list as well, but the ride for me will always be Soarin' Over California. All wind-blown and dangly, I got to hang-glide over the Golden Gate, Yosemite and alot of other fave parts of the Golden State. Jammin' the whole park into one day is hard work and by the end of it Simon and I were wiped out, but I'm now sure of one thing... if Disneyland is the happiest place on earth, California Adventure Park is a pretty close second.

What Simon Says About Disney's California Adventure Park

It's great to be back in Sunsville, but the last thing I thought I'd be doing when I stepped off the plane was hanging with Tinker Bell. (The guys at home can never know!) But hey, I'm with Sindy and we're in California even if it is like a sea monkey version of it. But a strange thing happened. The more rides I rode, the more Californian I felt. My fave ride was totally whitewatering down the Grizzley River Run. (Sindy bailed cuz she didn't want to get wet.) I have to admit - I'm a little disappointed... turns out we're a week too early to catch a totally kickin' new event at D's California Adventure Park. From July 1st to August 10th, over 50 Xtreme athletes will perform in Disney's X Games, Xperience. You'll see demonstrations of action-packed skateboarding, Freestyle Moto X, BMX bike stunts and aggressive in-line skating. My opinion of the park has changed from this morning. California Adventure Park isn't just a state fair on steroids, it's California.
